Dr. Jing Baer
LMFT, RDT
Hi, I am Jing, go by she/her. I am a therapist, trainer, and builder of healing spaces where change feels human and doable. My work is experiential and role-oriented: we practice new ways of showing up—in your body, emotions, relationships, and daily life—so you can feel shifts in session and use them the same day. We’ll move at your pace with clear goals, practical tools, and care that honors your culture and story.
My Approach
Experiential, Practical, and Rooted in You
My practice is built on a few core beliefs:
-
Less Talk, More Doing. We use embodied, experiential methods because lasting change happens when the body and mind learn together.
-
Role-Oriented Growth. We map the roles you play (internally and externally), keep what works, and train new, healthier ones—so the right role shows up at the right time.
-
Prevention + Targeted Care. Tiny daily reps build resilience; when life gets loud, we focus treatment to shorten recovery and make change last.
-
Your Safety and Voice Lead. Our work is trauma-responsive and culturally attuned—your pacing, values, and identity guide the process.
-
Tracked Progress. We use both standard measures and Roiya’s role-based tools to track what’s working and fine-tune quickly.
The Frameworks I Use
I developed the Role-Oriented Integrated (ROI) model—a research-published, evidence-based framework that helps people shift unhelpful patterns across social, emotional, family, and body-based roles. Alongside ROI, I integrate:
-
Psychodrama — an action method that uses movement and role-play to spark creativity, spontaneity, and post-traumatic growth.
-
Rehearsals for Growth (RfG) — an improv-based approach that balances the “survival mind” and the “adventure mind,” building resilience.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — exploring and harmonizing different “parts” of the self to create more inner balance.
-
Trauma-Focused Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) — trauma-adapted skills for regulating emotions, managing distress, and supporting recovery.
-
The Gottman Method — research-backed tools for improving communication and connection in couples.
-
Strengths-Based Structural Family Therapy — drawing on family strengths while reshaping interaction patterns to support healthier relationships.
-
Feminist Therapy — emphasizing empowerment, equity, and the imapct of cultural and systemic factors on mental health.

My Background
My path to therapy wasn't linear. I've worked in law practice, public relations, business development, and nonprofits—experiences that sharpened my problem-solving, communication, and program design skills. I bring that practicality into therapy, so our work stays efficient, grounded, and relevant to your life.
Clinically, I’ve supported K–12 students, at-risk youth, incarcerated adults, individuals with co-occurring disorders, and tech professionals across community, school-based, and intensive outpatient settings.
